QYAC Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Aboriginal Corporationshare stories and contribute to land, sea and cultural heritage, rehabilitation and preservation to ensure the sustainable management of the Island.

BUTCHULLA on K’GARI

Trailblazer Tours fosters relationships with  The Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (BAC) through their Land and Sea Ranger Program and National Park Ranger Talks.  2018 Butchulla people to formally re-engage with looking after K'gari. Their rangers are employed to conduct a variety of Land and Sea management that is guided by a combination of cultural knowledge and western science. These activities include cultural site management, weed control, biodiversity surveys and protection, rubbish collection, and visitor management and engagement. Their 4 main objectives are: Protect, manage, maintain and monitor Butchulla country and Aboriginal cultural heritage; Promote the practice of, and respect for the traditional cultural practices of the Butchulla People; Strengthen and develop the capacity of the Butchulla People through caring, sharing and economic investment in Butchulla country, intellectual property, and cultural practices.

On Lady Musgrave Experience with Taribelang Aboriginal Corporation

Sunset Safaris and Trailblazer Tours   work with incredible supplier partners  one of these is Lady Musgrave Experience who is Advanced Eco Certified they work with the local indigenous land and sea people to foster an integrated, collaborative approach to reef protection, and of course to provide guests with a deeper understanding of traditional owner connection to country as well as perspectives on the history and importance of traditional owner presence and environmental management approaches. Taribelang Land and Sea People share stories and contribute to land, sea and cultural heritage, rehabilitation and preservation to ensure the sustainable management of the marine park.

Environmental Management Charge (EMC)

A requirement of having a tourism permit in the Marine Park is that every reef visitor contributes a small donation to the protection and management of the Reef. The EMC is included in your trip price and goes directly to the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority to help with management actions within the marine park.
